Dedication Event

50th Anniversary – June 25, 2015
Dedication Ceremony- June 27, 2015

On June 27,2015, relatives of the servicemen, members of the military and the community gathered at the Heritage and Aviation Exhibition for a Dedication Ceremony. At the Dedication Ceremony, the Memorial kiosk was unveiled.

The Memorial is both a time capsule of the history of the Loma Ridge Air Crash and a tribute to the 84 brave servicemen who died far too young.

The value of learning about military history, either victory or tragedy, may be as simple as respecting the duty that wearing a uniform represents.

This is one reason that the Memorial is inscribed with the following dedication:

“In loving memory of the brave Airmen and Marines who died enroute to combat in Vietnam.”

May they never be forgotten and may we always be respectful of our brave men and women in uniform.
